Upcycled Denim jacket with vintage kimono fabrics

This gorgeous and unique denim jacket is upcycled with using exquisite materials taken from vintage Japanese kimono. 

The fabric used for the back of the jacket was used to be a breathtakingly beautiful wedding kimono (one of the photos shows the original wedding kimono).

Crane which is beautifully hand stitched on the kimono is Japanese national bird and it is believed as a symbol of longevity and good luck.

Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are imported from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1950s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes, old smells and colour fade which are not mentioned in a description, however they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have. I hope you enjoy and love the beauty of vintage kimono silks including their histories to be embraced.
