Early 1960’s floral dress with the most beautiful print in shades of purple and pink, it almost looks like it was painted with watercolor. This dress is sleeveless with a scoop neck and back line. It has a beautiful 2-tone pink and purple velvet ribbon detail that goes around the waist and ties on the side in back. It fastens with hook and eyes to keep everything in place. This dress is fitted on top with a very full skirt from box pleats all around the top. It has a really distinctive back, a panel crosses over the zipper in back and hooks over on the side with the bow so you don't see the back zipper at all. I've never seen a dress quite like it and the effect is so special. To me it actually looks 50s but the zipper is not metal so this is an early 60s piece with 50s design.

The label in the dress says "L.R. Samuels" Ogden, Utah. This is a shop tag not a brand tag and this store was a very high end women's clothing store here in the northern Utah region. The estate this came from had a number of items from LR Samuels. She had amazing taste. Condition is excellent. Freshly soaked and steamed, no holes, stains or odors. I replaced a few hook and eyes and as you can see it now presents perfectly with years of wear to go.

Size is a modern small or about a size 4. The model shown is about 5'6 with a 33.5/25/33.5. The measurements of the dress are as follows:

Waist to hem - 26" (3" seam allowance)
