This antique Chaozhou teapot was crafted in the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China era (1860 to 1912). It is made from local Chaozhou red clay and measures approximately 2.4 inches tall. This small teapot reflects the unique tradition of eastern Guangdong province.

One of its distinctive features is the fish-shaped finial on the lid, which symbolizes perseverance, good fortune, and transformation in Chinese culture. The rounded body is adorned with delicate, hand-inscribed Chinese calligraphy, adding a poetic and personal touch to the design.

The base is marked with the character 罐 (guàn), a traditional regional mark used by Chaozhou tea artisans.
