During the 2010s, Dolce & Gabbana re-released some of its most iconic silhouettes under the “Dolce & Gabbana Vintage” label. This dress was made as part of this line, and was worn by Monica Bellucci in Vanity Fair Italia’s May 2012 issue. A very similar gown walked the runway for the brand’s Fall 2011 collection (look 79/83).

This dress is beautifully made and cut to a sensuous, sculpting silhouette that is classic Dolce & Gabbana. It is tailored from a thick, stretch fabric that mirrors those used on corsets and shapewear to cinch the body in the 1950s and brought back by the brand for their runway shows in the early 1990s. It is boned around the bust to further sculpt the body and the straps mirror adjustable bra straps. The back features a wide elastic band at the top to ensure the dress hugs the body. The front has an additional panel of black lace which runs the length of the dress and fastens with a series of hook-and-eyes. The dress is unlined.

In excellent vintage condition with no issues and looks barely worn if at all. It is labelled an Italian size 46 but D&G runs smaller so please check our measurements closely. This would be better suited to a modern UK 12 or US 8. It is 81 % Polyamide, 19 % Elastane and the fabric contains some stretch.
